This contest is open to all Malaysian’s which age above 18 years old

The management and staff of Tenang Komuniti Sdn. Bhd. And family nor relatives members are not allowed to join the contest.

You have to register for this competition for one person per account. YOU WILL BE JUDGE AS INDIVIDUAL PERSON.

Ten (10) winners will be selected based on the highest points for winners.

Winners will be contacted within 24 hours after the competition finishes to provide details of information, and winners need to send their writeup of the CTF within 48 hours. Else, the winners will be disqualified.

Winners will be announced within one (1) week after the competition finished.

Winners will be contacted either by phone call or email. If the winners cannot be contacted within 3 working days after the announcement, the organizing party will be able to select new winners based on our criteria.

The judge’s decision is final. Any mailing to us will not be entertained.

Prizes cannot be transferred to another contestant or exchanged with cash.

Physical prize warranty will not be included in matters of event of damages.

The organizing party is able to use or exhibit winner information for use of promotion, advertising and in kind of.

All contestants should provide the organizing party with correct, accurate, complete and genuine information.

All contestants should read and understand all the rules, terms and conditions of this contest and agree to obey them.

Winners will be handed a consent form to acknowledge and reclaim the balance of prize on the Battle of 1337 for the TV GAME-SHOW PROGRAM.

Winners will be selected only if winners agrees to attend into next stage of TV GAME-SHOW PROGRAM Battle Of 1337.

The organizing party will or might update the terms and conditions of Battle of 1337 without prior notice

This Contest consists of two events: the first is a distributed, wide-area security exercise, whose goal is to test the security skills of the participants (the “qualification stage”). From this first exercise we will select a number of finalists to compete in another distributed, wide-area security exercise(the “final stage”).

The qualification stage will consist of a set of challenges for participants to solve. Theways for participants to achieve winnings based on solving these challenges: (1) by earning points for solving challenges within the Contest time period—as described further below; and (2) by submitting written challenge solution descriptions (“write-ups”)within 48 hours after the Contesthas ended, where TKSB will review the challenge solution descriptions that participants submit; first ten (10) participants earning the most points will win the Contest and are qualify to participate in a final stage where additional awards are possible.

The final stage will consist of an on-site session for TV show (where selected participants will compete to solve anotherset of challenges in preset scenario setting).The contest will be recorded by our production team and the recording will bepublished on television for cyber security awareness show. Selected parts of the contest might be edited to suit the public and the viewers.

Term of qualification stage: The Contest begins at 22:00:00 (10:00:00 P.M.) UTC+8on **July 162022** and ends at 22:00:00 (10:00:00 P.M.) UTC+8on **July 172022** (“Contest Period”).

Sponsor: Tenang Komuniti Sdn Bhd located at Tamarind Square Cyberjaya is the main sponsor of this Contest ("TKSB"). Yayasan Digital Malaysia located at Putrajaya is the co-sponsor of this Contest ("YDM").

Eligibility: The Contest is open to individuals who are (1) over the age of eighteen (18) at the time of entry; (2) a citizen of Malaysia; (3) an individual who is not restricted by applicable export controls and sanctions programs; and (4) people who have registered at BattleOf1337.com. Current employees, interns, contractors, coordinators, officers, or directors of TKSB or their affiliates, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. TKSB reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time.

How to Enter: Eligible participants may enter by registering at BattleOf1337.com and completing the tasks as detailed on the site. Participants may enter only once. Participants are prohibited to join in groups; if any participants caught in the act, TKSB has the right to disqualified that said participants. TKSB takes no liability for the distribution of helping to other members.

Any entries, points or flags are void if they are in whole or in part illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error, forged or obtained through fraud or theft. By entering you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and that all decisions of TKSB are final. If you are entering on behalf of your employer or organization, these rules are binding on you, individually, and your company or organization, and your company or organization has consented to your entry and potential receipt of the Prize.

Qualification stage rewards:

Rewards for Points Accumulated: There will be a scoreboard where points will be assigned at the end of the competition based on the challenges that were completed. Each challenge will have an amount of points based on the number of participants that solved it. Winners will be selected based on the greatest number of points earned. In case of a tie, the participant with the earlier submission of the last flag will be the winner. Note that write-up are required within 48 hours after the Contest has ended.

At the conclusion of the qualification stage, TKSB will select those participants that have earned the 10 highest points scores. On or about July 17 2022 these potential finalist(s) will be selected and notified by phone or email. If a potential finalist does not respond to the notification attempt within 3 days from the first notification attempt, then such potential finalist will be disqualified and an alternate potential finalist will be selected from among all eligible entries received based on the judging criteria described herein up until the 10th place participant is reached

If no entries are received, no prize will be awarded. Determinations of the judges are final and binding.

Final stage: A total of 21 selected participants consisting of 10 winners from the qualification stage will be invited to participate in the final event that will be announce later, where they will be mixed and match into each group consist of three (3) and compete to solve more challenges in a TV production environment.

Participants will be briefed for the final stage event at a certain time and place agreed. There will be a writing agreement between TKSB and the participants which include all the expenses and activities involved within the final stage. The exact final stage schedule will be provided to qualified and selected Participants before the end of August 2022.

Privacy: TKSB will be collecting personal data about participants when they register and enter the Contest. TKSB will treat this data in accordance with PDPA privacy policy, located at https://www.pdp.gov.my/jpdpv2/laws-of-malaysia-pdpa/personal-data-protection-act-2010/?lang=en.

Qualification Stage Prize: TKSB will pick the first ten (10) participants as the winners. First five (5) participants with highest points will receive a prize in term of cash and a mystery item. Another five (5) runner up will only receive a mystery each respectively. Prizes may be subject to terms, restrictions and conditions imposed by TKSB.

Publicity: By entering, entrant agrees and consents to permit TKSB and its agencies to use his or her name, photographs and/or likeness, write-ups and any provided or recorded video for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.

Intellectual Property Rights: By submitting a write-up in this Contest, the entrant warrants and represents that the writings, including the programming and related material, is open source and is released subject to the Apache License 2.0 or any suitable BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) license and not subject to the proprietary rights of any person or entity.

Warranty, Indemnity and Release: Entrants warrant that their solutions are their own original work and, as such, they are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted solution and that they have the right to submit the solution in the Contest and grant all required licenses. Each entrant agrees not to submit any solution that (1) infringes any third-party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity or confidentiality obligations; or (2) otherwise violates the applicable state or federal law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, each entrant indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified TKSB at all times from and against any liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses resulting from any act, default or omission of the entrant and/or a breach of any warranty set forth herein. To the maximum extent permitted by law, each entrant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the TKSB from and against any and all claims, actions, suits or proceedings, as well as any and all losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising out of or accruing from (a) any code or other material uploaded or otherwise provided by the entrant that infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, trade dress, patent or other intellectual property right of any person or defames any person or violates their rights of publicity or privacy, (b) any misrepresentation made by the entrant in connection with the Contest; (c) any non-compliance by the entrant with these Rules; (d) claims brought by persons or entities other than the parties to these Rules arising from or related to the entrant’s involvement with the Contest; and (e) acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Contest-related activity or participation in this Contest.

Entrant releases TKSB from any liability associated with: (a) any malfunction or other problem with the Contest Site; (b) any error in the collection, processing, or retention of entry information; or (c) any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any prize or winners.

Right to Cancel: If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, printing errors, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, TKSB reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. TKSB further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the submission process or contest, cheats, deceives, abuses, annoys, threatens any other entrants or Judges, or otherwise violates any law or behaves in an unfit manner as determined by TKSB.

Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties: IN NO EVENT WILL TKSB OR ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST OR FOR ANY ACTION OR OMISSION MADE IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING IN THESE RULES AND IN THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING THE PRIZES AWARDED, IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. Governing Law. This Contest is governed by the laws of Malaysia without regard to the conflict of laws provision.
